Round Two

This is a photo of a January week-long storm in Orange County. The cold rain was coming down so hard that drains were being blocked by fallen leaves, the streets were flooding, and everyone was carrying an umbrella. This would have been a very difficult week to be homeless in Southern California.

This photo makes one aware of the extreme weather that a homeless person must experience without a place to stay warm or dry. Most homeless people only have the clothes on their backs. Wearing cold, wet clothing can result in many health issues. The likelihood that homeless families or individuals have healthcare is slim even in a liberal state like California. This leads one to wonder how poor weather affects the overall physical and mental well-being of those who are homeless.
